As terrible as the events of that day were, and as much suffering as was endured by our Lord Jesus, when we remember His sacrifice, we call it “good”. We remember His death because we are forever thankful for our eternal life in Glory, which is only possible because He suffered for us on that dark and evil day. Good Friday is good because it achieved the purposes of God. To rescue you and me. To rescue us not only from a directionless life on earth, but to save us also from a hopeless, lonely, and frigid eternity apart from Him. Glory to God!
